What is Granola?

Granola is a generic term for a toasted generally oat based cereal. The delicious combination of hand-baked wholegrains, oats, nuts and seeds, olive oil and honey is considered by many as a ‘Super Food’ because it is packed with protein, vitamins, and minerals.

‘Granula’ was invented in Dansville, New York, by Dr. James Caleb Jackson at the Jackson Sanitarium in 1894. A similar cereal was developed by John Harvey Kellogg in 1896 who changed the name to Granola. Mr Kellogg developed a flair for cereals in the years that followed!

Granola is the perfect breakfast cereal when served with hot or cold milk. Our granola makes a crunchy treat when used as a topping for yoghurt or sprinkled over desserts.

Granola is also a healthy and nutritious snack you can nibble on throughout the day.

How we make it

We start with only the finest, freshest, most wholesome ingredients. We buy our oats as groats and roll and flake them immediately prior to cooking to optimise freshness and nutritional value. We only use premium stone-ground flour. We mix the two together with olive oil and the best honey we can source. With the addition of nuts, sesame seeds and unrefined sugar, our granola is ready to bake.

It’s slowly toasted with loving care, resulting in a golden brown, wholesome and nutritious crunchy treat your whole family will enjoy!
